Our Subcontractors
Experience
Choosing subcontractors to work with is a process that is of enormous importance. We seek the same things in our subcontractors that we demand of ourselves—top quality work, excellent communication skills, and a team-first attitude.
Quality
We work closely with these tradespeople on many of our projects, making it imperative that their knowledge and experience represent our standards and values as well. Each finished house includes input from every person who helped to built it.
Reliability
We typically subcontract plumbing, electrical, HVAC, insulation, and drywall, depending on the scope of the project at hand. Our subcontractors are the best the region has to offer.
About the Name
Henry David Thoreau wrote of his trip to 'Ktaadn' in the mid 1800s. For him, Northern Maine was the ultimate wild place, and the mountain stood as above it all, imposing and beautiful.
Katahdin Builders is named after that very peak, now called Mount Katahdin, which is the state of Maine's highest point at 5,267 feet above sea level. Its twin peaks, Baxter and Pamola, are linked by a thin, exposed route known as the Knife's Edge. The mountain serves as the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. It is a rugged, remote, and beautiful place.
